I accidentally cut a hole in the aluminum transmission housing.

A mobile welder was able to TIG weld and repair the hole in the housing.

In addition, the diesel volkswagen specialist Cool Air Auto of Belton MO did the work and parted out some old transmission parts and replaced my flange shafts and seals.

In Kansas City, mobile TIG welding is surprisingly affordable. The welder came out same day, did the TIG, and only charged $200.00, which I considered a bargain.

Cool Air did the whole repair quickly, and charged me less than $500.00, which I consider another uber bargain. An expert tdi diesel repair team at discount prices.

Hey thanks for the kind words!

Here's the hole.

We had to remove the strut and the subframe for the mobile welder to work (he instisted).

And here is the weld. It stood a little tall so we had to grind it down slightly.

Alan reported that this car got rear ended, and totaled. I have a car that needs an engine so I'm hoping Alan buys it and transplants his motor in there, but if not I'm hoping to buy the car.
