2013 TDI economy

Still beats taking the smelly city bus, or the road rage cab... Or walking

Our '13 Jetta DSG TDI has NEVER gotten a tank at less than 35 mpg, and most of the driving is mixed and not long distance either. On the highway depending on the terrain and numbskulls who believe that slowing to 20 mph then standing on the loud pedal is the way to drive in the mountains we get over 40 mpg. On a trip about a year ago we averaged 45.5 mpg for just over 1100 miles. The average would have been higher if I hadn't gotten cute with the route we took heading out too.

according to the book you cannot tow with the DSG

I'm surprised numerous people here acknowledge the vast difference between indicated and calculated MPG and yet no one complains or suggests a fix. Is there a different thread on that topic? I've always admired the "under promise and over deliver" philosophy…
