03 ALH complete rebuild, starts right up! however, engine light comes on. Code reader gives P0106 code (MAP Sensor). During the rebuild I replaced the intercooler. Thought I would use the original MAP sensor but the opening in the new intercooler was too big. Replaced the MAP sensor with a 25 MAP sensor, fits perfectly. Have read other threads regarding the MAP 25 vs the MAP 30 which fits the smaller hole that was in the original intercooler. Other threads stated if I replace the 25 MAP sensor with a 30 MAP sensor I would need special tuning. What is the consensus out there in this regard? Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to correct it? Just want to get that engine light off to get a smog cert. California car.
