Where can Biodiesel be bought in the US for $1.30 / gallon?

Interesting article.

Quote:
In the United States, biodiesel currently costs around $1.30 per gallon, about twice that of ordinary diesel fuel. The most widely used biofuel, ethanol, still only makes up around 1.6 percent of total gasoline use in the United States, he said.

Perhaps that is the cost of production...

Don't confuse "cost" with "price". Two different animals.

OTOH, the article does state "price" in the title. Maybe the writer is from Europe and has bad data. God knows people around the world believe all kinds of weird stuff about the USA...

Also, the price that is mentioned in the article may be a pre-tax price. I believe the commodities market lists #2 fuel oil and the price there is on the order of $0.70. So who knows?

If you're capable of accepting 500 gallons at the rail depot, World Energy sells it for $1.55/gallon,
no taxes included.
