No response from key fob. Alarm light is on. Will not unlock by inserting key into lock either. What's the next step? I don't want to set off the alarm with the car locked. Some time ago I replaced the driver door harness and a rear actuator. Car has been flawless since then, this just started all of a sudden, so I don't think they are related. Thanks.

Ya, I'm double posting, I put it in the general section first. Will popping the cable end off the passenger side handle and pulling on it open the door and then can I shut the alarm off by putting the key in the ignition? I need some ideas.

Replace the battery in the key fob and try it again. Even if the driver door lock is broken, if the remote works on the other doors you should be able to get in.

The door unlocking function with the key is mechanical and does not require electrical function. If that does not work, there is something seriously wrong inside the door.
