The pre turbo sensor is either bad, or miswired. Those fail pretty often, but usually read high....not low.

i tried an EGT sensor from DPF, should be good (identical) but nothing changed
wiring harness on the car is perfect, but i will double check the connector tomorrow
what resistance should the sensor have? or how do you check a sensor?

I'll check. Our sensors are different in terms of color and connector...but may have the same impedance...I never checked. Disconnect the sensor and see if the reading changes...then bridge the connector and see what it reads.

Connectors are different so you cant plug them wrong, i cut the dpf egt wires and plugged them into the connector directly, same reading as before..nothng

Will any K Type sensor work?

Like Bobby said, they are probably deleted from the tune. The cbea/cjaa engines we got over here had no oil temp sensor. I think that parameter is somehow estimated based on data from other sensors, possibly including egt1.

I need to put at least 1000km on the engine as everything is new (bearings, rods).
and make sure everything works fine.

So far no issues. Till i finish the 1000k there will be at least 2 new upgrades to the engine.
So far im very pleased in how its working.
A month later and still no 1k km on the engine?

If you don't drive more id say get a 2.0 TFSI with a tune and call it a day lol;)

we usually warm the car up and let it have it on the dyno after a full rebuild, the compression comes up soon after!

I'm at 1750km already but did not had the chance to tune it.
Fixing the last issue with injectors.
Injectors were leaking some pressure, turns out the previous plate reversed was not so ok.
Installed them as oem ones with new type of shim so there is enough pressure now to hold injectors down.

In italy on a friends car 1 injector was blown through the roof, so i decided to change studs and nuts, and i discovered the leak.

Question for who knows:
what happens if injector jet holes go 0.6mm lower, towards he piston (using oem gasket) ? will this influence the running of the engine?

You sure the injectors are ok if they have been leaking?
I had a Q7 in whereby the injector was leaking from the seal so badly that it killed the injector. There was no more spray but more like a tap

plastic soda bottles work great
chop the top off, stuff your CCV hose down to the bottom, then pack it with rags to condense the vapors, then ziptie it to whatever's convenient

Why waste more effort on something that doesn't make speed? :p

Since i cut and weld aluminum all day long i will build something more fancy
Now that i solved the leak issue there are not many vapours left.

Ryan ..my project took way too much time , i will settle for something less hp than 406 on diesel alone.
Production in the workshop came first ..the car had to wait.

Mine is a 100% street legal car, so i could have a good result in this class. Cant compare a race engine that will last 20 runs to a street one supposed to do at least 20k
Jamie and Bobby are at 340 now ..and thats my target also
My turbo is made to run at 2.6bar with 2.8 peak . Going bigger would mean sacrificing a daily driven car and living with dead under 3500rpm engine

This engine made well over 150 dyno pulls and 30+ (TBC) runs yesterday at the drag stip and it has perfect compression still so i'd like to think its doing OK, its so under stressed compared to any other build we have done

Why is your dyno run (on diesel only and NOS interestingly ) show shuttering at WOT?

Impressive figures. Congrats.
My dyno has later software than the one you use, I also like to run in responsive graphing rather than smooth so you get the tiny ripples.

I dont think you can find anything else on the graph to scrutinise

Means i should not be concerned about mine at 300-350hp.
I think i built it perfectly, taking my time and double checking everything

Decided to do a 270-280hp tune as linear as possible for street use with good spool, and one to max out the turbo as its the weak link in my setup.
Performance runs will come shortly after
100-200kmh 10hz gps
0-200kmh and 402m

Not really scrutinising, was just asking :)

Wondering if you were having issues with railp at WOT as that's what it looks like.

As I said, great result on the figures.

2nd gear dyno? Lol

Id say use at least some braking or higher gear so the run takes at least some sec to get any realistic numbers
