Check engine light went on; checked with my onboard Vag-com (just learning, just bought the car). Got these ...

17978 - Engine Control Module Blocked by Immobilizer
35-00

16764 - Glow plug/Heater Circuit (Q6) Malfunction
35-10 Intermittent

I reset them and drove to work 15 min; light did not come back on. Any help or hunches?

2001 Jetta TDI; 85K miles.

Immobilizer code may have been a fluke... prolly has been there for awhile. If you can start the car and it runs, then no worries!

As for the glow plug code... that's a VERY common one. The MIL will likely return eventually. Check out this super excellent thread by wingnut for all your glow plug problem solutions!

No libations. Came on again; this time I cant clear them and the engine light stays on. Went to get an inspection sticker (which I need), thinking that the check light was going to screw me. Instead, my windows were too tinted. You gotta be kidding me.
