Jetta clutch clicking noise

I have a one month old Jetta TDI with a manual transmission. The clutch
makes a soft clicking sound (like snapping your finger)whenever enagaged
while accelerating. You can also feel a slight pressure change in the pedal
at the same time. It does not do it when stopped or when downshifting. It is barely audible, but enough to be annoying. The dealer technician says it is the clutch switch that makes an audible click when engaged and that they all do it, and there is nothing to be done about it. Is that so ?
(I never heard it in any clutch before.)

How do you accelerate with the clutch engaged? You mean with the clutch engaged you rev the engine? Never heard of a clutch doing this but I am not familiar with the newer cars either.

Miles on it?

Could be a bad DMF or a failing throwout bearing too.

Point of Clarification

I see this confusion more and more lately. This comment is directed to Lefty:

A clutch is engaged (and transmitting power) when your foot is *off* of the pedal.

Pushing in the pedal disengages the clutch (disconnects the engine from the transmission).

Bill any chance you could take out another car at the dealers? My UK Bora didn't have a clutch interlock switch so I have no idea what one would sound like. I would suggest trying another car to see if they all do it.

Just a little backwards thinking with a head cold. Disengaged is what I was thinking sorry.
