Replacing Fuel Filter?

Hey guys im wanting to change my Fuel Filter on my 2012 TDI Highline should i go with VW's oem?
or aftermarket? any difference in the two? "i notice the aftermarket filter" im looking at comes with a ruber gasket
that goes on the inside metal Cap is the VW oem Fuel filter like this or is the gasket built on the filter.?

Your car can have one of two fuel filters, although it's highly likely it's this one: https://www.idparts.com/fuel-filter-late-style-a5-brm-cjaa-p-694.html. Look at the illustration that shows how the appearance of the canister differs between the two to verify yours is the "late" one.

I'd go with a known brand that's an OE supplier to VW. MANN, MAHLE, UFI, or Hengst. And the o-ring should be changed with each filter swap.

Thanks for posting. the fuel filter i posted is from Carquest its a 10 Micron filter
cost $26.00 i will give VW dealer a call if oem filter is a lower micron filter than obviously its a better made filter worth getting.
