2000 jetta no start but cranks fine. Any protocol for the no start?

Car was running great. It ran all day, then came out 20 min later, no start. Starter runs like a champ. I'm just wondering the order of things to check causing this problem.

I just noticed my glow plug light doesnt come on with the key on. I'm assuming I have a defective 109 relay and just ordered it from IDparts. I guess if this doesnt solve my problem, it probably was a good thing to replace seeing it is 15 years old anyway

Just an update, it was the 109 relay and fixed the problem completely
