Can you post the last letter of the part number stamped on your cylinder head? There were three revisions: A, B, C. All A and B heads cracked, some C heads cracked.

Yes I found the part number: 03G 103 308 C. I understand these are surposed to be the good heads.

This one is the latest but the issue is not completely solved. These still crack sometimes. You might have a failing cylinder head gasket.

Any white smoke?

No white smoke. The header tank does not pressurise either

Could be a leaky radiator.
No sludge on engine oil filler cap or dipstick, but a sweet smell of coolant when I park the car after driving.
I had one of the bad cylinderheads on my 2005 and that engine was replaced on warranty.
It had a small crack, but the coolant went out directly into the exhaust.
This I noticed since the car wasn' used for a few days and it was in winter time.
It got some more "steam" out of the exhaust, but it disappeared when engine temperature was up to 70 degrees C.

I have the same problem, BKD '07 drinking water but not always white smoke! Should I get a new head in and send it to the VAG dbilas? Or what do you recommend? with GTB2260vk
