Keyless entry reset

My keyless entry stopped working on the passenger side.

I go in to the manual, reset the convenience settings, sure enough it's set to drivers side only. Okay, so I found it!

I set it to "all." Turn the car off and wa-la!

It doesn't work...

Turn the car back on, and the setting is still set to "all."

What am I missing?

The setting in the mfi refers to which doors unlock when you unlock the door with kessy. So you can unlock the driver’s door only, driver’s side or all four doors. Sounds like there is an issue with the door latch or antenna.

Firstly the OP needs to specify the year of his vehicle for members to better assist.

Can't see it being the receiving end, there wouldn't be a separate one for each door.
It may need a setting change using a VCDS.
Does the drivers side unlock button unlock ALL doors?
Was this car bought used? Previous owner made changes?
I think more info is required?

Sorry, I thought my signature line showed my 2015 TDI Passat.

I bought it used with 97 miles in 2018 as a recalled fixed. The kessy initially did what is was supposed to, driver and pax door. Now it's only the driver door, and only the drivers door unlock (ant lock).

The pax door doesn't do anything. (internal lock/unlocks are fine)

In that case why not let the dealer solve your problem, you should have some warrantee with the car.

Does it do that withall fobs? Unlock behaviour is programmable *per fob* in the mfd, and they can behave differently. The choices are, iirc, all, drivers side only, or drivers door only . . . All doors shoud lock, though, no matter what.

I have no idea what I did, but it appears to work as intended.
I didn’t do a thing since first posting this thread.

What is weird, is that the lock sensor worked a few days ago(only the lock), now, today, the unlock AND lock function works.

When you are driving, do you hear a clicking noise in any door latches like the door is trying to lock? If so, check your lock/unlock indicator light on the driver door lock switch. If it's not illuminated, and there's clicking, you probably have a faulty or frozen door latch mechanism.

I’ll check for that next road trip.

And in good VW fashion, it has reverted back to the original failed state.

VW gremlins are everywhere.
