Low Power
My friend has a 2004 Beetle Tdi, the battery died and he rolled the car off to start it. Rolled it off in reverse, now the car seems to have low power, starts and idles fine but seems sluggish. No warning lights on dash, anyone have any ideas? I have read anything from limp mode to maf sensor.
Thanks

So the symptoms began right after he kick started it? Before was good power?

So roll start shouldn't hurt a thing, interweb guess it took a hard jerk and popped something loose. Like maybe the vacuum hose to the turbo. Or big pipes maybe.

Yes, was running fine before. He has brought it to a mutual friends shop, we are going to look at it Saturday, will know more then.

How long since the belt has been changed? I am wondering if you might have skipped a tooth or something pop starting it.

Ya, or did the guy accidently have it in first gear and drop the clutch....then, realize it was not in reverse and then made the adjustment in the shifter to reverse gear....thus starting the engine? Or, likewise, did the "puller" start tugging on the car prior to the guy-being-pulled was ready for him to do so and got caught in first gear?
