Dynoing a 2012 Jetta TDI w/DSG?

Ok we have a new local shop that our car club is putting on a dyno day. My Cobra and 87 Coupe are under surgery so neither are running so to help business I thought about dynoing the Jetta TDI. A) is it a good idea to dyno a car under 500 miles. B) also if it is ok to do it can yall give me tips? What position do I but the auto transmission in. Any other tips to get "decent" numbers?

I'm certainly not a dyno expert by any means, but VW doesn't recommend maximum engine speed before you have 600 miles (1000km) on the car. Your car should produce a bit more power when you have 10,000 miles on her.
