Disclaimer: I am most likely not going to do an actual swap, but was curious what the difference is between the two?

On ID parts site, I searched both of the OE Part numbers given for each turbo. I know already that the stock CJAA motor has the Borg Warner BV43, but when searching the OEM part number for the CR170 turbo, most sites return that it is still a BV43. So just for curiosity's sake, what is different about the two other than the EGR hookup, etc? What makes the BV43 on the CR170 turbo flow more?

That thread has a ton of info.. but quick relevant stuff off the top of my head:

CR140 = BV43, CR170 = BV43a
3mm (I think) larger compressor inducer
turbine wheel has 2 less blades, but is similar exducer size
