OBD access to VW's DSG Transmission Oil Temperature seems to be a perennial question with mention in many threads in this and other fora, but I don't see it answered definitively anywhere. From what I can tell no one so far has discovered how this information is accessed by the system but we suspect it is accessed somehow because DSG overheating triggers a check engine condition.
I have seen proposals for a block and PID but none appear to have panned out. I may be wrong but I thought it might be helpful if my and others' research in this forum were summarized here. I'm a noobie at this area and my contribution won't likely be valuable beyond what I have written so far..
