Explosion at Irving Oil refinery shakes New Brunswick city

Bad mojo for everyone north of NYC, something like 3 out of every 5 cars run on fuel from this refinery (I read it on the internet so its gotta be true!).

I use Irving religiously for RUG and on road diesel, kinda makes me wonder what feed stock they will be supplying their contracts from while the unit is down.

It has hit here in NH. Irving's price went up $0.05 per gallon. The horror! (Or is it just the normal seasonal price increase???)

Cheers,

PH

FYI winter blends have been harder to get, my father inlaw was stranded when it was only -13f two weeks before xmas, a time of year the fuel should be blended well under -25F.

Good thing the forecast isn't anywhere it was last year.

Is this explosion why Diesel fuel is still kinda expensive?

No, it has been that way for quite some time. As in, more than a decade, having started this pattern ever since they started removing sulfur from diesel.

Cheers,
