sensor checking ohm resistance checking

hi there i do not have vag com yet and want to check the engine sensors ( fuel temp ... coolant temp....i belive that i can check the reststance when they are hot and cold ??? thanks for the help

I don't know about the MKIV Bentley manual, but the earlier Bentley's have a table that where different temperatures correspond to different resistences. That lets you know if the sensor is out of calibration or not.
