Could anyone tell me if there is a gasket that goes between the turbo and the exhaust manifold (1998 A3 TDI AHU). I am replacing my K-3 with a new replacement Garrett turbo and I can't seem to find a part on ETKA for the gasket in question. I have heard that sometimes there is no gasket used in this flange but I just want to be sure. Thanks for any help. ~Matthew Hovis

I have been investigating this question for a few days now... I believe that there is no gasket between the turbo and the exhaust manifold... but I am still interested in hearing from anyone who might know for sure.

No gasket. I didn't have one when I removed the stock turbo. Upon returning a different stock turbo into service, I still did not use a gasket. Boost and spool are both fine.

I've personally wasted 10 minutes of a parts manager's time having him scour the microfiches for that elusive gasket. Stealth is right: no gasket, none needed.
