vagcom - lock doors while running...

may sound odd...

is there a code setting that allows the doors to lock while a key is in the ignition/engine running?

I've read some posts that describe the preference settings that vagcom can change but this one wasn't mentioned.

You can't use the power locks when the driver's door is open. BUT, what you can do is start the car with the valet key, shut thr door, then use your normal key to lock the door.

I've tried to lock the doors with the remote while the valet key was in ignition and running - didn't work...

I will try now what you are saying with the manual key lock.

to lock the door's with engine running:
1. start car
2. make shure you have spare key not locked in car.
3. lock door from passengers side and close door.

If you're locking a key in while it's cold out, make sure the lock cylinder isn't frozen. I've been frozen out of other cars in the past, it's not fun. A tube of lock de-icer is a good, cheap invenstment. In a pinch, if you can get some dry-gas, pour some on the key and then insert it into the lock. Usually that'll work.
