I hooked the vagcom up and found the fault code:

008213 – intake Manifold flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)
P2015 – 000 – Implausible Signal – Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 12
Mileage: 144644 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 16:30:47

I looked in my Bentley and it appears this part is on the back of the intake manifold - part # 03G-128-063A. Can you give any suggestions as to how to change the part? Or, if it can possibly be serviced?

I seem to have a similar issue, however I think mine is the intake flapper and not the anti shudder valve. Is this the same part or are they separate components? A nasty clicking noise happens when I turn the car off and it comes from the electrically operated intake flapper valve right on the rear left side of the engine where the rubber hose clips onto the valve hardware. (when looking at the car from the front)

VCDS showed the following code:

1 Fault Found:
008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)
P2015 - 000 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 254
Mileage: 148484 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 17:06:17

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 966 /min
Speed: 12.0 km/h
Load: 5.1 %
Voltage: 14.14 V
Mass Air / Rev.: 185.0 mg/str
Duty Cycle: 76.9 %
Bin. Bits: 00000000

Readiness: 1 1 0 0 0

I have heard this flap operates with a plastic gear and I'm assuming this is the issue. Would the replacement be the same as the link above?

It's the same part, which performs several duties, but is the only flap on the intake. Instead of buying a new ASV, some have fabricated a new gear out of scrap plastic.
