Subject: Should I Add a Hitch to my VW?

My VW is a big part of my life, and I constantly use it for road trips and such. My buddy suggested that it may be time to consider getting a pop-up camper that we take with us on our adventures. I’m a little worried about adding a hitch to my VW though – I have it turbocharged to the fullest that I can do so legally (I believe), but I’m still concerned about weight and maneuverability. What have been your experiences?

Not sure what car you drive, but I just added a hitch to my MK7 Golf Variant to tow a 900kg camper. It pulls great and handles well. That said, while the car is not deemed capable of pulling a trailer here in the US, UK specs state a max towing weight of 1600kg.
