Hey Guys,

I hope you're all well?

I cant seem to figure this out. I upgraded the injector nozzles on a 2001 VW Golf TDI, the nozzles work fine, but the car is running rough. There is loads of smoke coming from the exhaust, I have leaned it out a lot, but still lots of smoke.

It does not rev up well at all, it is really struggling. She starts well, first kick.

I am very sure that it is something to do with these codes;

5 Faults Found:

18027 - Glow Plug Relay (J52)
P1619 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
17957 - Boost Pressure Regulation Valve (N75)
P1549 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
17946 - Fuel Shutoff Solenoid (N109)
P1538 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
17849 - EGR Valve (N18)
P1441 - 35-10 - Open Circuit or Short to Ground - Intermittent
19561 - Valve for Intake Manifold Flap (N239)
P3105 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent

I have been doing individual searches on each one but its difficult to find a correlation to them, from one single cause.

I know they are all being caused by one individual fault, because before the nozzle change, I scanned the car, and there were no "engine" Related codes, until after the nozzle swap.

I would really appreciate some insight to this.

Thanks Guys

I see a correlation. I would think that there is a ground/wiring issue. Does the battery have a full charge and is the alternator charging properly? A low battery can cause strange problems as well.

I have some codes too. I want to follow this thread. Maybe get some ideas.

I will get back to this when I return from vacation. It sounds like the same codes I got, along with no signal to control boost. I found a post of lugnut’s, I believe, and he ended up finding the ecu at fault. No ground signal. I also had my coolant light come on for about 3 seconds. I did not do the coolant migration fix on this car and figure that may be what happened

By the way, the post of lugnut’s was from 2010 I believe, don’t remember what I googled to find it

I had a Jetta 1.9 tdi in the garage a few months ago with a broken wire on the ecu side of the wiring loom, it gave me a few codes pointing to Map sensor and Maf sensor... check for blown fuses or broken wires...

Physically pull fuse number 34 and make sure it isn't blown. In my experience when that fuse blows you can't see it when it's in the fuse block. Fuse 34 will cause some of those errors you're getting to happen.

Thanks guys, but long story short, it was the fuel solenoid connection, I just had to take it off and spray the connection with carb cleaner and put it back and the whole system worked again.
