Saw a Brazilian made model year 2000 Golf TDI today on a south Florida dealer's lot. The vin number read as follows:
9BWGF21JXYxxxxxxx
A sticker defined content as follows:
US/Canadian 1%
Germany 70% (Engine and trans specifically listed as German)
Brazil 20%
I don't know where the other 9% comes from!
It also stated the place of assembly as CURITIBA, Brazil.
