I received documents to notarize. However they are for a turn in date of Xmas eve .
My original turn in date was 12/3 but didn't receive docs until 12/15.
Now I plan on turning in 6/18.
Called claims they said sign & send. It will be adjusted
Turn in ambassador said not to.'
Am I paranoid about signing & notarizing documents with wrong $$.
I want docs with correct amount to me since loan will be paid off.
BTW: Loan is with VW credit

Howzzat? I believe you can't pick a return date until after your notarized docs have been uploaded and accepted.

If the offer amount is off, roll with it -- they'll pay you based on your mileage and actual turn in date. If you managed to get your offer letter amount changed to reflect reality, you'd be the first on the forum (that I've read, anyway).

Any overage sent to your lender will roll over to you. How close to your June turn-in will your loan be paid off?

Sometimes there is a fine line between paranoid and wise.

I think you are being wise to question this.

There is the line in the agreement which says
"your payment MAY change based on mileage and loan".

It should be the word WILL OR SHALL

may

v. a choice to act or not, or a promise of a possibility, as distinguished from "shall" which makes it imperative.

If in 2018 VW or the Courts decides to change something it leaves them a way out

You are not agreeing to anything until you sign at the dealer when you turn it in. Everything will be adjusted to the day that you turn it in.

not sure what your problem is because you can't pick your turn in date until your notarized documents are approved. which at this rate will be into February

Spoke with a lawyer. I was told do not sign documents. Wait until 2018 (June) when I am ready for Buy Back & have them make another offer based on updated mileage & paid off loan. However they did tell me to save the docs.
Which are proof that I am eligible & VW has made me an offer. The offer is just not correct for my turn in time frame.

Hola Senor Ottomatic,

I also plan to wait until 2018. I've received the written offer (and have not signed/forwarded the notarized package).

Does your posting above indicate that I need not take any further action until I sign and forward the notarized 'package' sometime in 2018?

I appreciate your help big time.................

best, ez

Si.
That is what I was told by a class action lawyer
Also told the same thing today by a claims specialist today when I called VW.

Now paranoia steps in again. Check or EFT ???????

will my checking account #'s be safe with VW and or their affiliate's & are their computer systems safe from hacking if I take the EFT vs Check?????

VW never gets your banking information--that's the reason for the odd two-step with EFT. You get an email from Chase, you log in with them, and give them the account information where you want the payment to go.

I still think you don't understand the process. If you don't sign and return the offer, you will never get to the next step. The next step is scheduling. That is when you set your turn-in. Your mileage will be entered then. All numbers until your official turn-in are all estimates pending odometer verification.

I understand the process . How ever it is not imperative that I sign & turn in @ a later date. The Attorney's for the Plaintiffs & VW Claims said there was NO hurry.
Perhaps Nov 17 or April 18 the cluster fock they have going on now hopefully will be straightened out.
Besides if VW feels like they will not meet their buy-back goal maybe they will offer more $ or incentive's on a new VW

read the complaints in above link . VW is not meeting time frames per agreement nor it the FTC and the lawyers which received mucho dinero enforcing them.
Perhaps we need a Class Action Lawsuit against the FTC & the Counsel that came up with the agreement.

lighter note:
I go past large "VW DRIVE" sign on I -75S (exit to Plant) 1-2X a week.
thinking how good SUCKS would look on it

It is better to get everything done up to the scheduling....then you let it sit at scheduling until you are ready. This allows for delays in paperwork approval. You can sit at the scheduling step until 2018 if you want to. When you do schedule, it will ask for updated mileage. The next e-mail after that will give you the updated $$$$.

This is good information; I did not know I could do this. I've registered the car on VW's web site, but have not gone any further, because I intend a turn-in late 2018. Now I'll proceed with the documentation step and take it forward as far as the scheduling step. Thanks.

Holding on to 2018

I received my offer letter dated 12/8. I spoke with VW Claims yesterday and they said to hold on to the offer until I am ready to schedule the return. The window for setting a return date is 90 days.

Also, I was advised by someone I know in the emissions business, to NOT sign the offer yet. Because depending on how things go, there is a small chance that they could make a better offer to hold-outs if the return rate is not high enough.

Love the car. Gonna drive it to 2018.:)

If there is a better offer, they have to offer it to everyone the same. You can only make appts so far out, but you can hold at the apt stage until you are ready.

My "final" offer after scheduling did not change at all. Even the date on the offer letter is the same.

This has been discussed before and if you read through the fine print of the offer, once you sign and turn the car in, you're done with VW. I'm sure that if VW sweetens the pot in 2018, there will be enough people yelling about unfair treatment that the sharks will begin circling again.

As I read through the Individual Release of Claims, I am really confued by section 6. I'm not sure if I am signing away any legal right to sue Bosch if it is found they were really part of this from the beginning. Or if there is a settlement again Bosch, is that effected by the amount of the VW buyout I have already accepted?

Somebody posted a link to an article that said Bosch has settled to the tune of $200 million. And why wouldn't they, since they have an indemnification agreement with VW? And unless the Individual Release of Claims specifies Bosch, I don't see how it's possible that it could even apply to them, since it's VW you're dealing with.

Remeber that early on Bosch admitted that they showed VW how to manipulate the software to know when it was being tested.

Once the smoke settles, any and all suppliers that can be linked by those being indited will get a free ride on the class action train.
