- No TDIs Currently, I have an R36 Corrado. I've had an ALH Corrado swap, AHU Corrado swap and 2003 TDI Jetta
This was on my tdi corrado that is using a 1999.5 alh engine. I had been getting trouble code P1617 on my Vag-com. It indicated that it was related to the glowplug circuit but it wasn't a bad glowplug and it seemed like nobody else had reported this code before. Since I had the dash out of the car for the installation of a radio, aux 12Vdc jack, cruise control and a/c wiring so I decided to spend some time trouble shooting this. The Bently Manual says the code is for an open circuit or short to ground on the glowplug heater indicator circuit. Well I traced every wire in the circuit only to find that it was just a glowplug harness that was bad between the #2 & #3 cylinders.
The cool part is the dealer had harness and it cost me only $35
I think some o the venders on here charge more then that.
