How is there wiring im taking the automatic part out and my car is manual windows already should be no wiring? Not being a dick just confused lol thanks manI think so, yes, but you need the wire harness from the door accordion and the harness to the car frame for the accordion and to the other side. It's part of the dash harness so your in for a monster wire job, doing it properly involves a 12 hour pull the dash off.
There are still power door locks. There are still switches in the door latch. There is still a power mirror switch (or maybe you have manual mirrors). How is there wiring im taking the automatic part out and my car is manual windows already should be no wiring? Not being a dick just confused lol thanks man
Your saying 2 things here. Be exact please. So did you remove the automatic windows from your car? Or where they manual already? How is there wiring im taking the automatic part out and my car is manual windows already should be no wiring? Not being a dick just confused lol thanks man
So what is is. Do you want manual windows or do you want automatic windows. Your the one being confusingThe reason im asking is someone is selling a automatic window door and I have manual, will i beable to swap the internals and call it a day or is it not worth my time? Thanks guys

I have no clue what your asking here now but I assume you had a manual and are putting automatic based on that's exactly what you just said
You clearly stated you want to convert your car to automatic
So what is is. Do you want manual windows or do you want automatic windows. Your the one being confusing
Thanks so much man for the reply and yes I thought I explained it right, there is rust on my doors and a weird type of patch on the other one so want them replaced but no manual winows I swear I have power locks and everything just manual windowsWhat I'm gathering is that the OP wants to retain the manual windows that he has now, but has access to a power-window door. For example, perhaps the intent is to replace a rusted or crash-damaged door.
The door structure is the same either way, and it all bolts or clips in place. So, yes, you can disassemble both the power-window door and the manual-window door completely, and re-assemble them having effectively exchanged door structures.
This is of course contingent that the mechanisms inside your existing manual door are intact and serviceable (e.g. if the underlying motivation is to fix crash damage, that the crash damage hasn't damaged the window mechanism).
Yes and I guess it seems pretty easy aswell for anyone wanting to do itThe subject line of the post completes the OP's thoughts:
" Can automatic window become manual?"
He wants to take an automatic window door and put it on his car that is manual window door.
So what your saying is I will already have the plugs there? All that the OP will have to do is unplug the wiring harness, pull it out of his manual door and leave it hanging at the accordion tube. Once the power window door is installed and the mechanism switched out, just thread the harness back in and plug it in. The roll-up window door will have wiring for the lock, lock/unlock switch, fuel and hatch release switches and possibly a heated mirror.
Yeah man will do its nice have all winter to do these kind of things while my crappy doors get salt blasted every day haha thank you for the extra advice manMakes sense. The topic was windows, I was not focusing on the door part.
Yea, just swap ot over. Golf and Jetta of these years and years past used the same internals. Should be a fairly easy swap.
OP, while you have the door apart. Put $5 worth of cheep sound deadening insulation in the areas that have the largest sheet metal. You will thank me later. Well worth it
So what your saying is I will already have the plugs there?
There are actually plugs for the door harness behind the lower A pillar lower trim panel. Five minute job...I think so, yes, but you need the wire harness from the door accordion and the harness to the car frame for the accordion and to the other side. It's part of the dash harness so your in for a monster wire job, doing it properly involves a 12 hour pull the dash off.
