Thanks for this! How do you think the quality of the downpipe if the Macevo compares to the Buzzken, one? That Macevo looks pretty nice!

Yeah that seems to be the response. Buzzken is also my JR auto tuner, so I'll likely just stick with his. Just curious how these ones stack up, as rawtech is the nicer piece, but just too much $$ for a downpipe vs the Buzzken...

personally i like the pipe from mecevo better then buzzken
because of one reason
buzzken uses stainless steel which is great but then the welds are mig welded with mild steel filler ( the welds won't last like the pipes will)

where as the pipe from mecevo is all big welded with stainless filler

https://youtu.be/tNrMND7CdZE opening the pipe from mecevo

https://youtu.be/MCD_2TptZVI sound clips with factory muffler

https://youtu.be/YfzhN96wL1o roughly a year of having the mecevo pipe installed

Def helpful!

Quick question, when you replaced the downpipe, does the CAT have to be removed? I wouldn't want to get rid of my CAT as I'd prefer to limit the amount of smell and blacksmoke, as much as possible.

Just curious? A lot of money to spend for what gain?

Also how will this affect any emission tests? Those are still applicable in Ontario it's just the cost has been removed I believe.

Emission tests are long gone in Ontario...

Egr deletes help reduce carbon build up in the intake by not recirculating combustion gases

Dpf deletes eliminates any chance of clogging due to various particulate build up (carbon being one of them) which in essences eliminates a slew of problems that can occur if a dpf were to clog. It also allows for a free flowing exhaust which with a tune and some other supporting mods will get you more power

This is obviously a very basic explanation

Pretty much what 2.2TDi mentioned. Plus, I’m looking to replace with cr170 turbo as my existing is approaching the 200km mark and wouldn’t be bad idea to do it before it goes.

Gone in the sense you don't need them to renew your plates. You can still be pulled over and ordered to go for a test.

The chances of that happening are almost inexistent, unless you're rolling coal and have a car that looks like it's asking to get pulled over. Normal looking tdis without a dpf? Doubt that'll ever get pulled over
