Spotted at the Penn 80 truck stop. A black Golf/Jetta wagon (didn't see that badge, just the "TDI" that had graphics identifying it as belonging to Martha's Escort Service from Laredo Texas. Get your minds out of the gutter - "Escort" was in the context of pilot car for oversize loads (and it was in a fuel lane immediately behind a lowboy with an oversize load). Don't know if they chose it for commonality of fuel (although the "anti-misfueling" adapter would keep a truck nozzle out, and truck stops generally also have car islands with both kinds of fuel), or simply because they rack up a lot of miles (rule of thumb in the trucking industry is 10,000 miles per month for singles - due to restrictions, oversize probably runs somewhat less).

It wasn't a Mark 4, so it was one that used the "LLAR exemption" on NOx levels.
