2012 Q7 TDI EGR cooler question

Hello,
New to the forum and TDIs. I have always messed with dodge so still learning with TDIs.
I have a 2012 Q7, did the stage 2 malone with PDF and EGR delete, love the responsiveness and better fuel economy, plus fuel economy.
It gave me a p0299, I found the source. The EGR cooler flat popped out. I have searched to see if i can just actually remove the cooler and block it off but can't find anything on it.
Any help will be appreciated.

Darkside sells EGR blanking plates, if your tuned and you can get it out then go for it.. on my 2nd Gen (2013+) it cant be completely removed without custom fabrication.. best you can do is blank it off on both ends and leave it mostly in place.
