Hey everyone,

I need help on my 2003 vw Jetta wagon tdi.
I got a flashing glow plug "coil" light together with a CEL light yesterday.
I ran the scanner and it gave me a 16612 or P0228 code (Throttle Position Sensor -C- Circuit High Input).
Anybody know what this means and if I can fix it myself?
Where is the TP sensor?
Thanks.

The TP sensor is attached to the pedal under your right foot. There is no TP sensor on the engine like there is on a gasser. The TDI's throttle system is a Drive by Wire system.

You may need to replace the TP sensor / pedal assembly. You may be able to fix it yourself. I've seen a how-to procedure somewhere on TDIclub a few years ago describing how to repair and clean up the TP sensor. The TP sensor assembly is basically a potentiometer with a foot pedal attached to it.

Good luck and Welcome to TDIclub.

Mine went bad, while I was getting on the highway. not fun. I used the Cruise control to get home. :)
