There are just too many to list....
Just did my Golf's 540k service this morning. Oil change, tire rotation, air filter, fuel filter, cabin filter, lubed the door hinges, checked the exterior lights, topped up the washer fluid bottle.... all good. Quite boring, actually. :p

When these cars are set up right and routine maintenance is done, they just go and go. We did the 360K service on my son's '02 Golf a couple weeks ago and aside from a slightly leaking EGR valve it's all good. Last month he jumped in the car with no prep and drove 2,200 miles to Wisconsin and back in 3 days. As is usually the case with these cars, it ran better after the trip.

I was real proud of hitting 266,666 on my 03 ALH. Coming up on needing a new timing belt, which is good because the T-Stat is slightly stuck open. Since everything is apart anyways might as well replace more wear and tear parts.

After 15 years in MN though, the rust is finally starting to get me. But for being in the midwest with snow and salt, I would say it's still super clean. Front fenders need to be replaced, but the pinchwelds on the unibody are still real clean, so not the end of the world.

Amazon has replacement fenders for less than $50 each, plus there are many eBay sellers with them for about the same price. I'm in the process of replacing the ones on my indigo blue weekend car -- the original ones on my red DD are still rust-free.

2005 Jetta GLS TDI wagon, 5 MT. Bought new in 3/2005. Wife driven till 2015 @ 195k miles. I took it over and it now has 240k. Just did the oil change, new fuel filter and air filter yesterday.

The factory clutch went to 205k. The only 2 issues it ever had was a failed in-tank fuel pump at 180k, adn the alternator clutch pulley failed at 195k. Neither failure prevented me from getting home. The car has never left me stranded.

The only issue it has it its tendency to warp brake rotors. The ChinaZone rotors will warp in 1 year. I use Zimmerman rotors now and those hold up much better. 20k on the current set and no warping.

Koni Reds made the car ride and handle much better. The ones I installed in 2011 are now getting worn. Next repair is a new set of those and a new set of springs.

We just traded in a 2016 Kia Sorento (thank God) for a 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI mk7.

After going from the Mk4 to the new one I can only say WOW. They really improved the power, ride, and handling over the Mk4.

The new one has a DSG. I'm not overly fond of its shift logic so I use it in manual mode. That damn trans is always lugging the crap out of the engine dropping it to 6th gear/1100 rpms in town. That's not good for the engine according the gurus.

I'm lining up a DSG tune ASAP.

Not TDI, but I have friend and customer who had 675,000 miles on an 81 Rabbit. He retired it last year and bought my car 05 Jetta BEW with only 300K on it. I only sold it to update myself into an 09 Jetta CR with only 180K.

I am the original owner of a 2003 Golf GLS TDI. I have done all the maintenance since I purchased it. At 316,000 miles I rebuilt the engine and manual transmission. Currently the vehicle has 376,000 miles and gets 46 mpg w/o AC on and approximately 42 mpg with AC on. The VW diesel requires you be vigilant as to the maintenance. Stealerships do not know how to work on these cars! Local shops that really know these vehicles are rare. As I have experienced, made the mistake of having a independent VW shop do the timing belt only to have to sue them to replace the head and the pistons due to their not tightening the timing belt tensioner properly. The dirty little secret to longevity of the VW diesel is you gotta do the maintenance yourself to make sure it's done right.

Hey,
Now I'm up to 425,000 miles, and still get an average near 50mpg since I did all the mods in my signature.

I had a 2001 beetle tdi auto with 318,000 miles. The engine had a runaway and knocked two holes in the block. Even then I parted it got 95% of my money back.
