Bracket on turbo

How important is the bracket that attaches the bottom of the turbo to the engine block? Will the manifold crack without it? The place it bolts to on my new turbo is 180 degrees off from the old turbo so the bracket wont work. Can I get one that will fit from the dealer or one of the vendors?
