2001 jetta gasser donor 2001 tdi info

so I really wanted a 5 speed car I found a nice 2001 5 speed gasser with about 125k on it no rust nice car

I have a 2001 tid auto with about 200k I want to put the tdi in the gasser what all do I need to do this

I also have a 5 speed diesel and the ecu from that car

any help will be appreciated

Well, first you will probably want to either get a TDI transaxle (EGR code) or at least a TDI 5th gear set and install it into the current transaxle. If not, you will find the engine rpm on the freeway to be rather high.

After that, there will be some wiring examination to see what needs to change between the 2 cars. Unfortunately, I do not know what that is; I would like to know it myself. Seems to me that it would be relatively straight forward if you have both donor cars. You'll also need to have the ECU reprogrammed in the target car, or be able to swap certain specific components.
