New user so apologies in advance if this question has been asked already.
I am interested in buying a used 2012 Tdi Touareg with the emissions fix and extended warranty. I have inquired with Vw but not had a reply. Does anyone know if the “long block warranty” covers the timing chains? or how common an issue chain or pulley failure might be with 2010-12 Tdi Touaregs ? My wife and I love everything about the Touareg except the possible $5000+ repair of a timing failure.
“Additionally, the engine long block warranty shall cover the engine sub-assembly that consists of the assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder head, camshaft, and valve train.“
I’m still hoping for clarification from Vw Canada and I’ll ask my dealer for help but no one I’ve spoken with so far seems to have an answer.
