Highly doubtful. But...

1. What makes you think you actually need a new turbo? Dealerships and some mechanics are fond of throwing turbos at these cars when not really called for.

2. If you DO need a new turbo, go with a relatively local vendor with an excellent reputation that supports this site: http://idparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=117&products_id=388 And it's on sale :D

X2 on what he's said.

1. Definitely worth a reply.

2. Follow this instruction and you won't be disappointed. Try to find your own source and it is likely you could regret it.

Absolutely do not buy a turbo from Ebay that is re-manufactured. Nothing from China. They're all junk. The reason is you need a VSR balancing machine for a VNT turbo and almost everyone does not have one to do it.

If you don't have the $800 for a brand new Garrett or Borg-Warner, consider buying a low mileage used turbo from one of the members here. Check the classified section. Guys are always removing stock turbos and putting bigger turbos on. You can pick a good used VNT-15 or VNT-17 for $400 or so. A much better choice than buying from Ebay or some other source.
