A/C Compressor overhaul

Anyone have some info on overhauling the A/C Compressor?
A/C comes on, just doesn't cool enough. Pressures are To High on the low side @60psi and to low on the High Side @ 100 psi-110(if I remember correctly)
Generic A/C maual points to Compressor or Expansion Valve as problem.

if you have pressure--it aint the compressor--exp valve---

I second the exp valve, and they are available for what 40 bucks.

remember to buy o-rings that you will need when you open up the system

Also buy the desicant chamber or drier(which ever VW calls it) and maybe some dye for future leak diagnosis

Before I replace anything I would evac and charge system to be sure it is full. The pressures will not tell you the whole story as far as how full the system is. Been there done that.
I bet the system is low.

pressures WILL tell the story----just has to be warm enough day--and you can tell by temp of discharge hose---been doing air for 35 years---but wouldnt hurt to pull systen down, to get any moisture out of system----
