I Hate Extra Parts!

I cleaned (by removing) my snow screen. When I took out the filter box, I found a 2.5 x 5" piece of plastic underneath the box. It has hooks molded into it and a ski jump on one end. What is it and where did it come from?

I bought the 02 Golf GS TDI used and have no idea what's been done to it.

Sound sto me like part of a cover for the battery or related electrical widgetry.....Could be scrap from replacement effort???Rob M Concord, MA USA

Look on the firewall next to the air box. There is a square plastic conduit that goes up and curves into the firewall. It contains electrical wires. It sounds like it is the cover for that conduit.

agreed. Its for the wire chase as it comes up to the battery box.
