One of the efr6758's with a vnt17vb with an external gate would be a nasty street combo :). I'm always trying to talk friends into using one of the EFR turbo's on a project, they're always all for it until they see the price haha.

My fabricator is not impressed with them at all, one car has killed 3 and another is on its second. That did not make the power so now he uses GTX Garrett turbo's!

They were all replaced FOC by BW so its nothing to do with the car!

On paper they are the nuts!

Very interesting, that sucks. You'd think a company as large as BW would get things right..

If Gus's build is any indication, one would think it's possible to go even larger on the LP and still remain street-able. If those ARPs will hold

FWIW looks like they have one comparison done in the UK with GTX series vs. BW EFR and the BW was a bit better:

Of course, this could be biased info so who knows. Some of BW's larger turbines have ceramic BB CHRA, watercooling, and single/twin scroll options.

Not sure what Garrett is offering in terms of thermal capability with the GTX series. They improved on the flow and PR with GTX but what about handling higher EGTs?

Not sure where the LP in my application is most efficient I'm hoping 3.8k rpm but its not too late to change:D if I'm not happy.

I'm attending to go 6258 in some time on my 2.5tdi with smaller 0.65a/r turbine.
Atleast if trusting bw match bot, it should work just fine.

VE are too high for TDI.
Muffler System Backpressure and intercooler drop pressure rise at square of rpm.
Better power without too much smoke with A/F at 16:1
Good calcul sheet!

Well I used that site own tips to make calculations. I wanted to result almost smokefree thats why with higher a/f ratio.
