so is there way to make the computer think the door is closed when it is open so as not to trip the door chime? it allways seems to wake up the kid's. The doors i am intrested in are the two front doors,or all doors for that matter. Thanks, MOGOLF for your expertise.... turbonem

I don't believe that the door chimes unless your headlights are on or your keys are in the ignition.

You could always switch your cluster to U.K. settings you won't get the door chime anymore. You'll have to deal with military time being displayed in your clock though.

I have an 04 TDI GL. The rear doors locking every time I drive is a PITA. Every time I get out to get the kid out the back seat I have to re-unlock the doors. Already re-coded via VAG-COM to unlock all doors in one press, but I am a little lost on which group to change to turn off the auto-lock feature. Is it this section?;

Group 011 (control unit) from June 2001
Immobilizer key recognition: yes, no, not installed
Automatic lock/unlock switch: operated, not oper., implausible
Sliding/tilting sunroof released: yes, no
Two-wire: two-wire (this is good), one-wire (this is bad) - data bus wiring

Thanks,

I had the same problem. You have 2 options: cancel the auto lock or have th edoors unlock when you remove the key.
Lock/Unlock Horn/Flash:

[Select]
[46 - Cent. Conv.] (35 - Cent. Locking for manual window cars)
[Adaptation - 10]
Channel (03..08)
Adaptation Value (1 = on, 0 = off)
[Save]

Channel 03 Auto Lock set to 0 to cancel auto lock
Channel 04 Auto Unlock Set to 1 to unlock by removing key from ignition
Channel 05 Unlock, horn sounds
Channel 06 Lock, horn sounds
Channel 07 Unlock, turn signals flash
Channel 08 Lock, turn signals flash

MOGOLF I have a question... Can I turn the alarm off... OR I need to be able to recalibrate my remote for my car... I cannot do it until I get a new Door latch modual b/c mine is confused... it doesnt know when the door is opened or closed or anything.. SO if I could turn my alarm off temporarily it would prevent the possibility that my alarm gets set on accident and I cannot drive my car...

Hope this is the correct place to ask this. Does anyone know if there is a way to have the headlight switch turn the headlights off instead of them being on anytime the parking brake is released?

Thanks,

Morris

This is not a software controlled feature. (sadly) You need, to bend, remove, or otherwise insulate the pin in the headlight switch that controls the Daytime Running Lights. Do a search of the forums for DRL.

Unbelievable!!!! Actually that was my suspicion. I was hoping against hope that I was just overlooking it in VAG-COM. When you consider some of the things that are computer controlled though it is a bit surprising that the daytime running lights are not. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it.

Thanks,

Morris

Hallelujah - my (almost) two year battle with the autolock system is over! Turned it off yesterday with the information seen here and my basic VAG-COM license. Thanks everyone.

I'm pretty new to the VAG and heard that there is a way to control the window roll up and roll down through the remote, rather then using the key in the door.

Is that true and if so, what measuring block gets me to it?

ETA: I found what I needed and it can be done on the "Golf 5" vehicles for sure
