Hi,

New member here, I've ordered an engine bay strut brace for my car but looking under the bonnet this morning there are no bolts on top of the suspension turrets for me to unscrew and attach the brace?!

Please tell me I don't have to start drilling the Bodywork to get it to fit?...that'll attract rust and see it in the scrap yard before too long!
It's a mint 2002 PD130 6-speed, genuinely the suspension turrets are free from any fixings other than the top of the shock sticking out in the middle.

Help!

There are just too many to list....
Yes, most of these aftermarket braces require drilling and threaded inserts be installed, like a "rivnut".

Through bolted mine with some nyloc nuts. Well worth installing
IMO. I also attached an internal rear cabin brace between the seat
belt attachment points. Subtle, but the whole car is a lot stiffer with
the reduction in body flex.

Jeff of RC remarked on my installation that the windshield is essentially holding the front of the car together, a strut is a common
install for those racing, otherwise they tend to break the front glass.

A bit of sealant in the holes will prevent corrosion, but after 2 years
unsealed, I have no signs of rust. Well worth it as part of a whole
suspension package.
