Hi, my airbag light is on and i cant get my safety tag. i had a local mechanic do a scan and he it came up with driver's side side airbag sensor. He tried to clear it several times but couldnt. he was using a cable to his computer. he recommended that i replace the sensor. i found one on ebay that said it was for me car. 05 tdi golf. but when i got it and uncovered the one under my seat they didnt match. the one under my seal is the black and yellow one pictured and the one i got is the all yellow one. i googled for it and keep finding the all yellow one. i did find the picture of the black and yellow one like what i have but not link to it. what am i missing and what to do? thanks,

Does your horn work? If not, that could be an indication of a faulty clock spring which in turn will cause the airbag light to go on. I had to use the genuine VCDS cable to turn off my airbag light after changing the clock spring. It is under the airbag inside the steering wheel.

It's maybe an update like the coolant sensor on the mk4, they changed it so the new ones were all green.

I switched the drivers side sensor with the passenger side sensor and the fault went to the passenger side so this confirms it is the sensor and not the wiring or the control unit.
