Timing Belt interval

Does, or has anyone looked into their owners manual for service intervals recommended for timing belts on this new model? Is it 120k mile, 130k miles, what is stated in the booklet?

Just curious, want to know the potential maintenance expenses up front, long term for this car.

My manual, now that I own one, says 130k miles for the timing belt.

Here we go again... Same TDI motor, two different CIs published. The OM in my 2006.5 says do TB at 80k and 100k. Never had the opportunity to ask VW why 2nd TB only good for 20k. ;)

There are just too many to list....
The B7 Passat TDI manual says 130k... which is 10k more than the similar engine in the Golf and Jetta.

Given the robust build of the belt used, I would bet it could even go longer... but I would not recommend that.

Around here it usually costs many thousands of dollars, since shortly thereafter you'll need a valve job.

It costs about $800 here, done correctly.
Cool, can we look forward to an Oilhammer step by step write up like the Drivbiwire procedures provided here on TDI club?

for the CEBA but the CRKA or whatever the passat has should be 95% identical.

Done a couple, not a bad job. Some folks have done quite a few. We charge 4.5 hr (same as the BEW) for the whole job.

For comparison, our labor is:

ALH: 5hr
BRM: 4hr
BHW: 5hr
AEG/AZG/AVH/BEV: 3.5hr
ATQ: 5.5hr
AWM: 4.5hr
AWW/etc. 4.5hr

So the CBEA/CJAA is not too bad.
