Not rquired unless you are extremely A/R. Best thing for turbo longetivity is to keep it out of surge. The turbo cools down quickly at idle due to low EGT. A minute or 2 is enough, plus the synthetic oil has a higher coking point then conventional oil.

A turbo's best friend is a pyrometer.

You can see and know for sure that it's safe to turn everything off.

I believe every turbo engine should come with one and a boost gauge.

Really basic stuff you know.
