507.00 oil question

Hey fellas,

I looked up the sticky for engine oil specifications.

I still have some Mobil 1 ESP leftover for my next oil change along with A Mann filter.

I have a 2013 Sportwagen TDI.

Are there better brands of 507.00 motor oils? I don’t know if any of them are better than other brands?

Right now I’m coming up on my 90,000 mile oil change. Thanks for any helpful tips or advice.

I would buy couple cases of Mobile 1 ESP whenever it went on sale somewhere. used that from 2011 thru 2016. Then when I needed to use my $500 dealer gift card from diesel-gate I bought 4 cases their Castrol brand. I don't think the brand matters much. All 507 oils will be full synthetic and quality to pass the 507 standards.

Careful haha... these discussions never go down well. Something about opinions, *** holes, and armpits or something... All oils that meet the 507 standard are excellent oils. Personally, I preferred the factory fill oils, like LiquiMoly. IDParts sells the 5L jugs and it ends up not being much more than local 507 Castrol. That said, Castrol and ESP are probably fine too.
