I think I already know the answer to this, but is there a way to reset the "check engine" light without the use of a vagcom? Thanks!

Depending on the fault, it may turn itself off after 4-50 start and drive cycles.

My '97 B4's CEL goes off after starting the engine and 30 or so seconds later, it comes on and stays on until the engine is shut off. It will do this religiously EVERY time. I suspect there is some corrosion on one or more of the glow plug connector tips.
