Question regarding G648 EGT sensor part number

Hi,

While getting an MOT my B7 Passat threw up a code regarding the G648 (post DPF) EGR sensor, so I am looking for a new part.

I called my local stealership and got a part number from them, they gave me the following: 03L906088HM.

Problem is I can't find anything on eBay or anywhere with this exact part number, it's always a slight variation, with the middle 6 numeric digits being the same.

Will these parts be compatible? How can I make sure?

Find the sensor short code (three digits) which is near the connector.
Seek using that code, e.g. VW exhaust sensor 987.
That way you will be sure.

Take a look at this diagram. I'm not sure which sensor you're talking about, but it should be on there.
