Just saw an interesting listing on eBay for an OEM MKIV skid plate:

When I contacted the seller, they indicated the parts are reproductions made by Overland Parts:

Now, I'm curious what other parts I've been buying that were produced by these guys, and how their quality control standards compare with those of the original manufacturers.

Either way, an OE looking steel skid plate for $110 shipped CONUS does not seem like a bad deal!

It's a bargain if it's the correct one for your vehicle.

Bear in mind that the front mounting posts will probably cost you as much again. You will then need the three mounts and rubbers for the rear, together with seven Rivnuts and nine fixing bolts.

Then there is the time consuming job of tailoring the side panels to suit.
