According to the mechanic, I have a "large" condenser leak. I haven't seen it yet. He estimated $770, which is $170 for a new condenser and the rest for labor. According to him, the only way to get the condenser out is to pull off the front bumper cover, etc. So that's my question...is that true? Or is there another way that would save all that labor? If there's another way, I'll do it myself.

Here's why I ask...
When my car was "fixed" after it was wrecked, the body shop used bondo to fill in the gap between my bumper cover and the front quarter panel. They painted it and it doesn't look completely terrible. However, if the bumper cover is pulled, it's going to look like total crap I'm afraid. So I'd rather not have to deal with all that if I can get a condenser on without the bumper cover coming off.
