Pd130 ASZ oversize pistons

Hi guys

Has anybody used Nural/Federal Mogul/AE pistons on a pd130? The car has a bigger turbo, boosting around 2bar. The guy has been driving with no oil, ran a bearing. So he's deciding to overhaul the motor (without the expensive pistons and rods)

Wondering if Nural/Federal Mogul/AE pistons can handle the extra boost..

Take pistons from 2.0 PD 8V TDI and bore block.

Any idea whats the engine code on those?

I have checked with all Parts suppliers here, those engines are not listed on their system. Maybe those engines were not put in South African cars.

Vw dealership can get them for me but the price is insane! I can probably get forged pistons and rods for that amount..

If u guys have any other ideas let me know, if nothing works out i guess i just have to sleeve the block with stock pistons

Just buy them on internet, Darkside has them at 500£ + 50£ for your location i just try it.

Darkside is the first place i look at lol, unfortunately its not in the budget..

Otherwise, you're not likely going to find "used" pistons that will suit your budget short of very good luck on eBay.

Hey guys

What exactly needs to be done for these pistons to work? I know the block has to be bored out to accept the pistons, but is there anything else?

Do i have to use a bhw/bpw head gasket?

Is the height of the pistons the same as the asz?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Once installed you measure piston protrusion and choose gasket accordingly.

Ok thats for the thickness of the gasket..

I noticed on darkside website that there is a gasket for a 81mm bhw bore, im not sure if using a pd130 head gasket could cause a problem..?
